1997 FDC of 50 Years of Avaition in Malaysia

In 1947, Malayan Airways Limited pioneered airways service in Malaya. Fifty years later, MAS, its succesor became the became the mega carrier by the trun of the century.

The first day cover was issued in 1997 in conjunction with 50 years of aviation industry in the country.There are only 3 denominations of stamps in this set.

As usual, the 30 sen stamp that shows Malaysia airlines over major destination around the world.

The 50 sen stamp shows the airline with KL skyline as the background while the last design, RM1 stamp illustrates the different logos used over the 5 decades.

Malaysia Clock Tower Series II FDC

Wherever they are, the clock towers will always fascinate people as unforgettable landmarks. Many of Malaysia clock towers are of historical interest.

There are 3 different designs again in this series. 30 sen, 50 sen and RM1.

30 sen stamp depicts the Birch Memorial clock tower, built in 1909, which is located in Ipoh, Perak, constructed in memory of J.W.W. Birch, the 1st Resident of the British colonial administration. He was assasinated.

50 sen stamp is the Atkinson clock tower in Kota Kinabalu. The tower was built in 1905...to commemorate the 1st resident of Sabah, Francis George Atkinson

RM1 stamps shows the Kedah, Alor Setar Big Clock tower. Built in 1912 and depicts a Moorish influence in the structure.

2008 IDBF Club Crew World Championship First Day Cover

Dragon boat racing is a traditional chinese sport team event that originates from China. The boat is often decorated with dragon heads and tails. At other times these decorations a removed and it is just a long narrow boat.

Each dragon boat consists of 10-12 crew member. Also on board the boat is a large drum where a drummer will play the drum during the race.

This set of stamps consist of 3 designs, namely the 30 sen, 50 sen and RM1. There is also another miniature sheet, which obviuosly i do not have at the moment.

Seniman Agung P Ramlee Minisheet

P Ramlee, a name that is no stranger to all Malaysians. A very talented Malaysian artist.

P Ramlee brought about an unprecedented improvements in Malaysian films industries during the early years of Malaya and Malaysia, back in the 50s, 60s and 70s.

Till now, his movies are still broadcast weekly over the the national TV station.
